Flip Or Flop Stars Christina And Tarek El Moussa Finalize Divorce
The TV stars' marriage is officially over.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Christina El Moussa's rep confirmed on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 that her divorce from husband Tarek has been finalized.
Christina took to Instagram on Monday to share an inspirational quote with her followers. "I want to thank my family, friends, and supporters for all the love and kind words the past few years," she wrote in the caption. "Officially ready for the next chapter ✅ Life's too short to tolerate negativity ... #choosehappiness."
Meanwhile, Tarek posted a Rock meme, which shared advice about distancing oneself from negativity. "I saw this on my feed and thought 'Wow, what a true statement,'" he wrote on Instagram. "So I thought I would share the Rock's thoughts with hundreds of thousands of people. Question – who out there has dealt or is dealing with points 1 through 4? The best way to take care of others is to first take care of yourself!! Happy Monday 😊😊😊."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, the Flip or Flop stars split in May 2016 following an explosive fight, which they later called an "unfortunate misunderstanding." During the argument, Tarek stormed out of their shared home, leading police to seize guns from the property.
In January 2017, Tarek, 36, filed for divorce from Christina, 34. In court documents, he sought spousal support and asked for joint legal and physical custody of their children, daughter Taylor, 7, and son Brayden, 2. Meanwhile, Christina also requested spousal support and asked that Tarek pay her legal fees.
"We are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be," they said in a joint statement at the time (via Us Weekly). "We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together."
Both parties have dated other people since their breakup. Christina is currently in a relationship with British host Ant Anstead, after calling it quits with businessman Doug Spedding in October 2017. Meanwhile, Tarek reportedly had a brief fling with one of the family's previous nannies, Alyssa Logan.
