Darren Criss Engaged To Longtime Girlfriend Mia Swier

The former Glee star is getting hitched!

Darren Criss took to Instagram on Friday evening, Jan. 19, 2018, to announce that he and longtime girlfriend Mia Swier are engaged.

"Mia and I have had seven and a half years of fun, wacky, wonderful, CRAZY adventures together. And I'm happy to announce that we're kicking those adventures up a notch. We're goin for it," he wrote, dropping a few Star Trek references while captioning a cute snapshot of the two. "To boldly go where neither of us have gone before. Engage."

Criss, 30, and Swier, 32, started dating before he rose to prominence acting opposite Chris Colfer as Blaine Anderson on Glee from 2010 to 2015. "Oh yeah, we've been together a long time," he said on the The Roz & Mocha Show on KiSS 92.5 in 2013. "I didn't know I was going to be on TV when we started dating."

2018 is certainly off to an exciting start for Criss. In addition to his engagement news, the actor is currently starring as Andrew Cunanan, the man who murdered fashion designer Gianni Versace, on Ryan Murphy's crime anthology series, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. The acclaimed FX series' second season premiered earlier in the week to strong ratings and reviews.

In addition to acting, Criss is also a recording artist, having released his most recent EP, Homework, in December 2017. After co-creating the popular parody theater company Team StarKid with friends at the University of Michigan in 2009, he went on to star on Broadway in the musicals How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Meanwhile, Swier is a writer and producer. According to People, after attending NYU's Steinhardt School of Media Studies and Television Production, she went on to work for Fox and Showtime.
