RHONY Star Luann De Lesseps To Enter Rehab Center

The 52-year-old is trying to better herself after a recent scandal.

People reports that Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps is checking herself into a treatment center, just days after being arrested at a hotel in Palm Beach, Fla.

"After the events of last Saturday night in Palm Beach, I am truly embarrassed," de Lesseps said in a statement to the magazine. "I have decided to seek professional guidance and will be voluntarily checking into an alcohol treatment center. I intend to turn this unfortunate incident into a positive life changing event."

She continued, "Once again, I sincerely apologize for my actions. I have the greatest respect for police officers and the job they do. My actions alleged in the police report do not reflect my core values and my law abiding character."

De Lesseps added, "I am so grateful for the love and support that I am receiving from my family, friends and loyal supporters."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, de Lesseps was arrested around 1:25 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2017. She was charged with "battery on an officer, disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest with violence and crimes against a person." She was later released without bond. She's due in court on Jan. 25, 2018.

A later report revealed that de Lesseps had entered the wrong hotel room with an ex-boyfriend and would not leave when ordered to by security. When cops arrived, she allegedly refused to leave and, when an officer tried opening the door, she reportedly pushed him and closed the door on his head. According to the report, she later tried escaping from her handcuffs and, at one point, screamed, "I'm going to f**king kill you." One report indicated that she'd also kicked a cop.

De Lesseps, who announced that she and husband Tom D'Agostino would be divorcing in August 2017 after less than one year of marriage, later addressed her arrest. She tweeted, "I want to offer my most sincere apologies to anyone that I might have offended with my behavior. This was my first time in Palm Beach since my wedding and being here brought up buried emotions. I am committed to a transformative and hopeful 2018."
