Margot Robbie praised Cara Delevigne for speaking out against Harvey Weinstein
In 2017, when Cara Delevigne spoke out about being sexually harassed by Hollywood giant Harvey Weinstein, Margot Robbie was among the first ones to show her support for the London native. In a statement on her Instagram account, Delevigne accused Weinstein of making sexual advances towards her when she was still starting out in Hollywood. She recalled how, in one instance, she received a phone call from the former producer "asking if I had slept with any of the women I was seen out with in the media." "I quickly declined," said Delevigne, however, added, "At that moment I felt very powerless and scared but didn't want to act that way hoping that I was wrong about the situation."
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Robbie applauded her good friend for being brave and speaking her truth. "Cara is a dear friend of mine and I already knew she was a fierce, brave woman. Today just proved that again," said Robbie. At the time, the "Wolf of Wall Street" star also shared her thoughts on the countless allegations made against Weinstein by her fellow female actors. "The fact that the conversation is so prevalent and so many woman are so bravely coming forward, I think the culture has to change," she said. "It cannot be ignored anymore."
