Here's What Amanda Seyfried Really Looks Like Without Makeup
She may be most known for her work on "Mean Girls" but Amanda Seyfried's accolades stem far beyond her role as Karen Smith. In fact, following her time as a member of the plastics, Seyfried went on to star in highly rated movies such as "Mamma Mia," "Dear John," and "Les Misérables."
And it was roles like these that allowed Seyfried to find herself and her role as an actor within Hollywood. Though up until around 2017, Seyfried revealed she would simply take whatever role came her way, even if the role wasn't something she had been looking for. "I was worried that if I gave myself a break, I wouldn't be able to get back into it," Seyfried said, per Grazia Magazine, though "[now] I only accept roles that I consider impossible to miss out on."
But becoming picky with the roles she began starring in wasn't the only change Seyfried brought into her life following the birth of her two children, Nina and Thomas. In fact, learning to focus on clean beauty and working to show off her natural beauty is something the actor has embraced in this new chapter of her life.
Amanda Seyfried enjoys rocking the no-makeup look
When she isn't being glammed up, Amanda Seyfried isn't afraid to go au-natural. In fact, that is the way the star prefers to be, as Seyfried is constantly caught by the paparazzi embracing her natural look.
For example, back in 2018, the star was seen outside without makeup while taking her kids to an Easter party. Rocking a casual look, Seyfried was wearing a casual white tee with jeans while her glowy skin was her best accessory, per the Daily Mail. And that type of "glam" Seyfried was rocking is the one she loves the best. "I feel claustrophobic and a little greasy in a full face when I'm at work. No amount of makeup can withstand a 12-hour day," the star told Women's Health Magazine. "One of the most luxurious feelings is taking off my makeup at the end of a long day. I feel renewed."
And with Hollywood being bombarded by perfect makeup, fans love the fact that Seyfried is one of the biggest actors and one of the biggest no-makeup proponents. For example, when posting a bare-faced selfie on Instagram, it doesn't take long for fans to applaud Seyfried for embracing her natural beauty — and encouraging fans to do so as well. In a selfie, one fan wrote that the all natural photo of Seyfried was so great it should be her profile picture. Echoing a similar thought, another added that the photo was, "So stunning."
Amanda Seyfried embraces her natural beauty for her children
While Amanda Seyfried has always been a champion of the no-makeup look, after having kids, the actor only doubled down on that belief.
In an interview with Grazia Magazine, Seyfried explained that having children changes your outlook on life and beauty. "At my age, beauty is no longer just about what's on the outside. I feel beautiful if my mind is free, if I can get rid of negative thoughts and I have a clear idea about what I want and who I am," she said.
But Seyfried knows the movement to embrace no makeup isn't just about her showing off her natural beauty. In fact, when talking about her children, Seyfried explained that Zendaya is a great role model for young girls — like her daughter. "Whether she's dressed elegantly or sporty, wearing makeup or none at all, [Zendaya] is always beautiful," Seyfried explained. "But it's my overall impression that she's always true to herself." And that's a message that Seyfried works to tell to her fans and to her kids. "I try not to look in the mirror very much. You've got to realize that you're living for yourself, not for other people," Seyfried said, per Self.
