How Much Did Jax Taylor Make Per Episode On Vanderpump Rules?

Jax Taylor, born Jason Michael Cauchi, was a "Vanderpump Rules" cast member from 2013 to 2020. The Bravo reality show centered on star Lisa Vanderpump's hospitality empire and the lively staff who worked within her establishments. During Taylor's tenure, he worked at Vanderpump's successful SUR lounge and had his relationship with fellow Sur co-worker Brittany Cartwright play out on-screen. And despite supplying fans with a steady dose of drama for seven seasons, Bravo cut ties with Taylor in 2020 after his 2017 tweets unfairly blaming his Black co-star Faith Stowers for crimes she didn't commit surfaced. "She's wanted by the police for grand theft auto and 'awol' from military, bad idea to be on a reality show dude. Someone's going to jail," he tweeted (via Us Weekly).

Taylor's firing came around the same time his former co-stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were also fired for racially targeting Stowers, according to  Variety. Following Taylor's "Vanderpump Rules" exit, he appeared on the "Daddy Issues" podcast and said that being off the show was a "relief" for him given the age difference between him and his twenty-something cast mates. Yet, despite Taylor's peace with his Bravo departure, the once star once raked in a nice paycheck over at "Vanderpump Rules."

Jax Taylor made $25,000 per episode of Vanderpump Rules

As far as salaries go, Jax Taylor, an original "Vanderpump Rules" cast member, was sitting pretty at the top of the heap. Well, almost. According to InTouch, Taylor was raking in $25,000 by the time he left the successful reality show. Aside from queen bee, Lisa Vanderpump, who makes around $50,000 per episode, Taylor's salary equaled or surpassed all of his other cast members. Stylecaster described Taylor as "the second richest cast member," citing Celebrity Net Worth and their valuation of his $2 million net worth. Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute made $25,000 per episode prior to their firing, as well. Meanwhile, Kate Maloney and Tom Swartz made between $10,000 and $25,000.

Though Taylor can no longer depend on Bravo to line his pockets, he's a man of many trades who has more than one source of income. According to Life&Style, Taylor has his hands in the modeling, influencer, and real estate world.

How Jax Taylor makes money today

For some reality stars, losing their place on a mainstream show can result in financial ruin. However, this doesn't appear to be the path Jax Taylor will follow. As stated above, Taylor's net worth sits around $2 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. And if you're thinking it seems unlikely that he made all his money from "Vanderpump Rules, you would be right. Prior to joining the popular reality show, Taylor enjoyed moderate success as a model locally and internationally. Over the course of his career, he appeared on magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Esquire, and V Man, and did campaigns for brands like Lumibrite, which he sued for continuing to use his image years after his original contract expired, per TMZTaylor also appeared as a background character in a string of shows, including "Two Broke Girls," "Dexter" and "Arrested Development."

Taylor also boasts 1.1 million followers on Instagram. And, even though he doesn't appear to promote products often, that social reach could also provide a decent payday. Additionally, the reality star is big on investing. "If you must know, I invest in low income housing across American and in cannabis distribution," he tweeted in January 2020. "I also own sound equipment that I rent out to other TV shows. Oh yeah and on a hit TV show. I am good for the rest of my life."

Although Taylor can no longer claim he's "on a hit TV show," it still sounds like he's sitting pretty.
