Inside Chloe Cherry's Modeling Career
Chloe Cherry is only 25 years old, but she has already undergone several significant career changes. Per The Sun, she initially wanted to be a dancer before deciding acting was more her vibe. Cherry took on an opposite approach to mainstream actors who turned to the adult industry by starting her career in porn and then going mainstream. Cherry made around 200 X-rated movies under the name Chloe Couture. But she'd always viewed the adult industry as a stepping stone to her future career.
Cherry told Paper she'd planned to quit the biz around 20 because porn's "really hard on your body." And she revealed she'd never particularly enjoyed the work. "My sex drive is really average," Cherry said. "I'm not super hypersexual and never was." While still dabbling, though, she appeared in a porn parody of "Euphoria," the show she joined in Season 2. Given her adult background, you'd assume Cherry would be a star who'd have no problem being nude on-camera.
However, Dazed reports she was one of four female actors who petitioned "Euphoria" director Sam Levinson to cut gratuitous nude scenes. It was rumored Cherry was cast in the HBO hit after Levinson watched her adult parody and liked what he saw. However, she shot that down in flames. Cherry told Paper she'd made the explicit flick a year after landing the role of the heroin-addicted sex worker, Faye. Having conquered the adult and mainstream acting worlds, Chloe Cherry then set her sights on a modeling career.
Chloe Cherry's modeling career skyrocketed
After scoring the role of Faye in "Euphoria," the floodgates of opportunity opened wide for Chloe Cherry. But, like millions worldwide, everything skidded to a halt when COVID-19 hit. Cherry's career was skyrocketing before HBO abruptly paused filming during the pandemic. The actor worried her new career had irreparably ended too. "A part of me was like, 'I don't even know if this is going to happen,'" Cherry told The Cut. "I was ready to give it my all and then was so bummed."
Eventually, the pause button was lifted, though. As the new norm dawned, Cherry quickly realized she'd been premature with her concerns. In fact, the truth was that Cherry's career was opening up in ways she'd never even imagined before. Her significant social media presence had resulted in "Euphoria" director Sam Levinson first spotting and then casting Cherry. But now, she had become an influencer on a grand scale and it did not take long for the fashion and beauty industry to come knocking.
Cherry's modeling career went from nothing to buzzing without passing go. Per V Magazine, Cherry became "the face" of the Versace X SSENSE SS22 ad campaign and modeled for Paper. Before long, she was walking catwalks worldwide and strutting down the runway at New York Fashion Week with the likes of Kendall Jenner and Bella and Gigi Hadid. "It was incredible," Cherry told Flaunt. "It was an amazing experience. It was so cool being backstage," she continued.
Chloe Cherry's lips make serious bank
Chloe Cherry's modeling career continues to grow. However, she admitted when she started acting in "Euphoria," she was trolled about her looks — especially her plump pout. "The way that people reacted to [my appearance] was so weird and just the way that people said that my lips were like, so big," Cherry told Allure. "I don't think I've had that much lip filler put in. The way that people reacted to it was so f***ing horrific." But haters gonna hate, and Cherry used those lips to make bank. In 2022, she became "the new face" of Urban Decay's Lip Bond Liquid Lipstick.
"The linkup between Urban Decay and Cherry is basically perfect," High Snobiety notes, scoring the label 10 out of 10 for their casting choice. "The beauty brand tapped the internet's most talked about lips to promote its new lipstick."
Despite being a make-up brand ambassador, Cherry prefers to be more barefaced in real life. "I'm really more into skincare than I am make-up," she admitted to Nylon. "Most days, I would wear no makeup and just have my skin look nice," Cherry added. (Is that the sound of Neutrogena calling?) She shared her top lip trick with the magazine. Cherry said that on the few occasions she does wear lipstick, she soaks a towel in warm water and scrubs her mouth before applying it. "Rubbing it on my lips exfoliates nicely and brings out the color," Cherry explained.
