The Palace also announced that the couple's first royal engagements will take place on Friday, Dec. 1 in Nottingham with a visit at the Terrence Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair. "They will meet representatives of organisations supporting people living with HIV/AIDS," the Palace tweeted, adding, "Prince Harry is looking forward to introducing Ms. Markle to a community that has become very special to him."
They will also "speak to staff and mentors @NottinghamAcad about the Full Effect programme which is helping prevent young people from turning to violence and crime," the Palace continued.
According to BBC News, Markle, who is a protestant, will be baptized and confirmed prior to the highly anticipated wedding and also plans to begin the years-long process of becoming a British citizen.
The former Suits actress, who previously studied international relations and served as a UN Ambassador, also announced her retirement from acting this week. "I think what's been so exciting [transitioning] out of my career and into, as you said, the causes I can focus even more energy on, very early out of the gate, [is that you] have a voice that people listen to, a lot of responsibility," she told Us Weekly. "I see it is a new change, a new chapter."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Harry, 33, and Markle, 36, confirmed their engagement on Monday, Nov. 27. The two have been together since the fall of 2016.
