2018 Grammy Award Nominees Announced
Get ready for the 60th annual Grammy Awards!
On Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, singer Andra Day announced a few of the nominees for the 2018 Grammys live on CBS This Morning (via Billboard). The Recording Academy later revealed the nominees for all 84 categories.
Jay-Z snagged the most nominees with a total of eight, in categories ranging from Album of the Year to Best Music Video. However, Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars weren't too far behind. Lamar was nominated in seven categories while Mars received noms in six.
"I'm inspired by this year's nominees and the incredible talent each possesses," Neil Portnow, the president and CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement (via E! News). "Their recordings are a true testament to how creatively alive and meaningful our music industry has become. Each nominee uses their craft to inspire, uplift, and tell stories of our world through their artistry. They provide a vibrant soundtrack that represents the highest level of excellence and continues to impact and reflect our culture."
The Grammy Awards will air live from New York City's Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT on CBS. The Late Late Show's James Corden will host, marking his second year emceeing the big event.
