Aaron Carter Takes Drug Test On The Doctors, Breaks Down In Tears Over Health
Aaron Carter has nothing to hide.
The 29-year-old spoke candidly about his physical and mental health after taking a drug test on an upcoming episode of The Doctors, scheduled to air on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017. "I'm concerned about my overall health because people tell me I look like I have AIDS or I look like I have cancer or I look like I'm dying," the "Fool's Gold" singer tearfully admitted after testing negative for meth and cocaine (via Entertainment Tonight).
"What scares me about that drug panel is that your sister [Leslie] perished from a drug overdose," Dr. Travis Stork told the former child star. "You have a mixture of benzodiazepines with opiates, which is how many people accidentally can die." Carter, who takes these medications "as needed" to treat his anxiety, said, "I don't want to be on that stuff....I know that there is no happy ending to any of those medications."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Carter's thin appearance is due to both his anxiety and a condition called a hiatal hernia. At 5'8", he grew visibly upset to learn he weighed a shocking 115 pounds. "I didn't realize," the "Sooner or Later" singer told the doctors. "I wasn't looking at myself in the mirror because I didn't like the way I looked."
"Of course it scares me," he admitted. "But it scares me to the point that I won't make the wrong decision. My greatest fear — not being able to live as long as I can."
2017 has not been the "I Want Candy" singer's year. Carter was arrested for alleged DUI and marijuana possession in July, which sparked a string of negative press about online body shaming, his public feud with his Backstreet Boy brother Nick, and his breakup with girlfriend Madison Parker after he came out as bisexual. Then in September, Carter totaled his car in a "severe" accident and was visited by police at home after an alleged suicide threat.
While we wait for more updates on the singer's health, read up on the dark secrets the Carter family tried to hide.
