Chester Bennington's Wife Opens Up About Losing Her Soulmate
It's been just over a week since the passing of Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, and now his wife, Talinda Bennington, is speaking out about her family's tragic loss.
"One week ago, I lost my soul mate and my children lost their hero—their Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy," Talinda began in a statement to E! News. "How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left."
Talinda continued, "I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well. My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive."
The former Playboy model went on to describe her late husband as "a bright, loving soul with an angel's voice," adding that "now he is pain-free singing his songs in all of our hearts."
Talinda concluded, "May God bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would've wanted us to do so. Rest in peace, my love."
Talinda and Chester were married for over 10 years and had three children together. Chester also had three other children from previous relationships with Elka Brand and Samantha Marie Olit.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Chester committed suicide by hanging. He was just 41 years old. His body was found in the morning of July 20, 2017—what would have been his late friend Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday.
Linkin Park recently released a statement regarding their band mate's passing, writing, "Our hearts are broken. The shockwaves of grief and denial are still sweeping through our family as we come to grips with what has happened."
Our thoughts remain with Chester's loved ones during this difficult time.
