Report: Aaron Carter Arrested For DUI, Marijuana Possession
The "I Want Candy" singer was arrested in Georgia on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
According to E! News, Aaron Carter was arrested for reportedly driving under the influence, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects. His girlfriend, Madison Parker—who was a passenger at the time—was also reportedly arrested by police for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and obstruction.
TMZ reports that Carter, 29, refused a breathalyzer and would not consent to the authorities testing his blood and urine to determine if he was under the influence.
Carter's bail was later set at $4,610, and Parker's bail was set at $4,360. According to People, Carter was still being held in police custody on Sunday morning.
As E! News notes, this isn't the first time that Carter's been in trouble with the police. In 2008, he was arrested for possession of at least two ounces of marijuana. A few years later, he checked into the Betty Ford Center for addiction treatment.
The singer was previously scheduled to perform in Kansas City on the night of his arrest, but the event was canceled. A post on his Twitter account, shared on July 15, read, "Due to transportation issues, Aaron will not make his set time tonight in Kansas City. He promises to come back soon. He apologizes to his fans in KC and Mix93.3."
Wonder where the singer's been the past few years? Here's why you haven't heard from Carter lately.
