Kelly Clarkson Shuts Down Body-Shaming Twitter Troll
Move along, Twitter trolls. Kelly Clarkson is not having any of your body shaming.
As E! News reported, the three-time Grammy Award winner was subjected to some nasty fat-shaming after writing a simple patriotic message to celebrate the Fourth of July on Twitter: "Thank u 2 every person in service 4 protecting all of us and cheers to every person who fought for us to experience freedom & independence."

Soon after, the online troll struck. "You're fat," replied user @Euger23.Â
Unbelievable, right?
But Clarkson immediately hit back with, "....and still f***ing awesome."Â You go, Kelly!
The "Heartbeat Song" singer's adoring fans praised her iconic response and quickly came to her defense. One fan, @tysonjones, replied with, "She's sexy as hell! I'm gay and Kelly makes me reconsider."
As Nicki Swift previously noted, the original American Idol's weight has too often been subjected to harsh criticism. For example, in February 2015, British TV personality Katie Hopkins took to Twitter to shame Clarkson's appearance on The Graham Norton Show. "Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen," she wrote.
But the 35-year-old has learned to take it all in stride. In April of that year, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the pop star famously told the talk show host, "You're just who you are. We are who we are. Whatever size, and it doesn't meant that we're gonna be that forever."Â
The "Piece by Piece" singer went on, "Sometimes we're more fit. Like, especially me. I'm such a creative person that I yoyo. So sometimes I'm more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don't and I'm like...I'd rather have wine."
Talk about #Relatable. We're definitely Team Clarkson!
