Amanda Bynes Announces Big Plans In First Interview In 4 Years
Is Amanda Bynes returning to life in the spotlight?
The actress gave her first sit-down interview in over four years on Hollyscoop's The Lowdown. Speaking with host Diana Madison, Bynes discussed her current lifestyle, which has changed quite a bit since the hard-partying days of her past.
"I've been going to school lately, fashion school—FIDM. And I love it. I've learned how to sew, I've made patterns, and I want to start a clothing line in the future, so FIDM has been helping me with that," Bynes revealed, adding that she's also been exercising and feeding the homeless in her spare time.
While Bynes is now three years sober, she's had to overcome some big demons from her past. After multiple arrests and a string of troubling tweets, Bynes was eventually admitted into a mental health facility. She was later diagnosed as bipolar and manic depressive and received treatment.
The former Amanda Show star also made a major announcement on The Lowdown about her future in entertainment. "I have something surprising to tell you: I'm going to start acting again," the 31-year-old said. "I want to do TV. Maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I'm a fan of and maybe another TV show where I'm the star of it, in the future. That's what I hope."
Bynes also took the time to address a few of the controversies that have surrounded her in recent years. Most notably, her infamous tweet to Drake, in which she stated, "I want @drake to murder my vagina." Thinking back, Bynes has no regrets about the tweet and told Madison that she was just being honest. "I actually wasn't being insincere. I was like saying, 'Murder my vagina,'" she explained. "I was serious, but I was also on drugs, so that was my way of saying, 'Let's do it, man.'"
Can't blame a girl for knowing what she wants.
Congrats on your sobriety, Amanda! We can't wait for your return to the small screen.
