Jennifer Lopez Reveals How She Met Alex Rodriguez
Not all great romances start with a bang. Sometimes, all it takes is a casual introduction.
On April 24, 2017, Jennifer Lopez went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and revealed just how she and her new boyfriend, former Yankees star Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez, got together.
"I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him. He passed by," the "Ain't Your Mama" singer, 47, told host Ellen DeGeneres. "Afterwards I went outside, but for some reason I just felt like tapping him on the shoulder and saying, 'Hi.'"
She continued, "And I said, 'Hi, Alex,' and he was like, 'Hi, Jennifer,' ... and then that was it."
After making small talk about living in Los Angeles, Rodriguez, 41, apparently made a move, saying that the two of them should hang out. Lopez replied, "Well, you can find me. You have my number." Rodriguez, who'd already had her number from years earlier, then texted Lopez and asked her out. According to Lopez, they shared a "nice dinner."
But don't expect Lopez to start sharing the dirty details of the night that followed—the Shades of Blue (2016-) actress wants you to know that nothing happened. After DeGeneres asked if Rodriguez and Lopez had a "sleepover" the night of their date, Lopez, wagging her finger, said, "No ... Mama don't sleep over on the first date."
Rodriguez previously gushed about Lopez to the ladies of The View on March 31, 2017. "It's obvious [who I'm dating]. We've been having a great time," he said. "She's a big Yankee fan. We're having a great time. She's an amazing, amazing girl, one of the smartest human beings I've ever met, and also an incredible mother."
Despite their attempts to play it cool, it sounds like things are getting pretty serious between these two celebs. Rumor has it they've already been discussing marriage.
