Worst Dressed Stars At The 2017 Golden Globes
When it came to the 2017 Golden Globes' red carpet fashion, most celebs either played it safe or outright dazzled. Unfortunately, not everyone had the right idea when it came to red carpet looks. Some outfits were so cringe-worthy, it almost felt like a spot on the "worst dressed list" was entirely the goal. Other stars were so determined to play it safe, they bored us to tears. Problems ranged from poor choices in fabrics and colors to looks that simply made no sense.
These Golden Globe looks left us stunned, but for all the wrong reasons.
Carrie Underwood
She may have let Jesus take the wheel, but Carrie Underwood might have been better off letting him take over her wardrobe, instead. The country singer's Iris Seban ensemble was more miss than hit, with some comparing her to a swirly pink cake.

Others went so far as to say her look reminded them of a certain part of the female anatomy. Yikes!
Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick's dress is a prime example of how a lovely fabric can be ruined by a poor design choice. Thanks to the way this Vionnet Spring 2017 grey gown wraps across the front of Kendrick's chest and and neck, it makes one breast look larger than the other. It's a far from flattering choice, which is a shame, because Kendrick's make-up and skin tone really work well with the fabric.
Jessica Biel
Jessica Biel was so eager to show off her post-baby body that she opted for a dress that was bad enough to put both herself and her husband on a few worst-dressed lists. You know a look is bad when someone else makes the list with you be mere association! The gown was simply trying to be too many things at once: elegant, sexy, and quirky. But instead of a hit, the dress ended up as one big miss.
Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman may be glowing, but this drab style is not. As much as we'd love to give brownie points to Portman for continuing to channel the spirit of Jackie Kennedy, we simply can't overlook how genuinely dated this outfit is. It's one thing to put a modern twist on a tribute to past fashion eras. Unfortunately, her yellow Prada gown is just a bit too dated for the occasion.
Felicity Jones
Rogue One star Felicity Jones certainly went "rogue" with this cringe-worthy look. Her Gucci dress at the 2017 Golden Globes featured a bright pink bottom, flesh-toned top, black embellishments, and a black shimmery bow that nobody asked for. Had she gone with a uniformly pink dress, kept the black embellishments at the bottom of the gown, and ditched that atrocious bow, she might have been safe from every other worst-dressed list on the Internet.
Instead, Jones gave into the dark side and here we are.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman's metallic Alexander McQueen dress had the dubious honor of landing on every other worst dressed list on the internet, including ours. Which is why we have to ask ourselves if the Aussie actress inadvertently threw her daughters under the bus for their role in this red carpet faux pas. According to Yahoo! Style, Kidman decided to wear the dress because the two girls were fascinated with the look, saying it made her look "like a beautiful fairy."
As much as it pains us to disagree (and we do) Kidman's look was almost as awkward as husband Keith Urban's '90s boyband blond highlights. Is anyone going to tell him that look is no longer a thing?
Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington clearly fell victim to the "it looks good on the model, so it's going to look good on me" line of thinking that often plagues women when it comes to fashion.

In the above tweet, you can see how the Gucci dress looks on the original model. Her long neck and sloping shoulders allow the look to hang more elegantly on her frame, whereas Washington almost looks likes she's headed to war. Then there's the inexplicable to decision to wear clearly visible black spanx under the outfit, and then match it with her shoes. If that weren't enough, the look is somehow meant to be made unique from the original look by way of a couple black fabric patches.
They say you can have too much of a good thing, but as Washington proves, you can certainly have too much of a bad thing, too.
Zoe Saldana
We're hooked on the feeling that Zoe Saldana may have worn someone's chiffon bed sheets to the Golden Globes. Saldana's Gucci dress was a mess from top to bottom. The matronly pink ruffle top aged her while the lower half of the dress failed to look nearly as elegant as Saldana probably thought it did. Once again, there was an unnecessary bow, and once again, Gucci is to blame for it. Saldana is ultimately left looking like she's headed to a sleepover for grandmothers instead of the Golden Globes.
Sarah Jessica Parker
We're sure that Sarah Jessica Parker was doing her best to honor the late Carrie Fisher with this Princess Leia-esque Vera Wang bridal gown. However, there's a really good reason this look is so strongly associated with Fisher, and that's the fact that she's pretty much the only person who could ever have pulled it off. But maybe the gown was meant to be more tongue-in-cheek than we're giving Parker credit for?
After all, who would expect an actress nominated for her role in the HBO series Divorce to show up wearing a white wedding gown?
Sophie Turner
We're not sure whether to congratulate Sophie Turner or not, but it appears that she was a staple on many of the 2017 Golden Globes "worst dressed" lists. One look at this Louis Vuitton ensemble at it's hard to be surprised.

It's not even a situation where the dress looked good on a model and didn't translate to the celebrity; this dress was always ugly. We mean "eliminated on an episode of Project Runway" ugly! There are too many things going on at once with this gown, and none of them are good. We can only say that Turner could have fed whoever was responsible for this nightmare of a dress to Ramsay Bolton's man-eating hounds—and we wouldn't have blamed her.
