Why We're Worried About Baby Dream Kardashian
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna welcomed daughter Dream Kardashian into the world on Nov. 10, 2016. The couple had been through some ups and downs in their relationship, but fans were hopeful that the birth of their child would help cement their relationship. After all, Chyna was reportedly responsible for Kardashian's surprising weight loss and healthy lifestyle, so there must've been something positive going on in their romance, right? Unfortunately, that apparently was just not the case, and the pair's good times together quickly came to an end.
And ever since Kardashian and Chyna called it quits, we've been worried about baby Dream and how quickly her life could turn into a be a bit of a nightmare. Would her parents' erratic behavior cause big trouble for her? Would the former couple's strained relationship have negative consequences as she grew up? Here's everything that has us concerned for Kardashian and Chyna's baby girl.
Rob and Chyna have a volatile relationship
It seems like Rob and Chyna never stop fighting, which doesn't make for the healthiest environment in which to raise a child. Sources told TMZ the on-again-off-again couple fights constantly over everything, including Chyna's history with rappers Tyga and Future, Rob's diet, money, and social media. The stress of a child likely won't make those arguments any less frequent.
Rob is unhealthy
Rob's health has reportedly been as tumultuous as his relationship. Sources told TMZ that during a brief split in September 2016, Rob was clocking in at roughly 300 pounds, having regained the 50 pounds he lost after Chyna reportedly whipped him into shape when they first got together. His alleged depression supposedly led him to barely leave his home, and he reportedly isolated himself from his loved ones, who claimed to be worried about him.
Insiders allege Rob falls into "vicious cycles." When he gains weight, he loses motivation, and when he loses motivation, he gains more weight. TMZ reported that Rob was hospitalized for diabetes in December 2015. That doesn't bode well for his interactions and responsibilities with his new daughter.
She's already surrounded by cameras and drama
A source told People that a film crew was on hand for Dream's birth so E! could air a baby special about the delivery and all the drama leading up to it. Even the baby's grand exit from the womb went viral as part of the "mannequin challenge" movement. That's all fine and good for Chyna, who People reported "loves all the attention," but this little one doesn't get a say.
Her extended family doesn't get along
Rob's fights with Chyna have extended into feuds with his own sisters. He argued with Kim and Khloe Kardashian about his engagement and tweeted Kylie Jenner's phone number in anger over a misunderstanding about baby showers for Dream. Chyna explained to the rest of the Kardashians — on their show — that Rob instigates problems to get a reaction out of the rest of his family and blames his baby mama for his own negative interactions with the rest of his brood. Good grief.
Her parents are pimping her out
Before she hit the 1-month mark, baby Dream was already working hard to rake in the profits for her parents. Papa Kardashian posted a video to his Instagram account of the little princess modeling his designer sock line with the shameless caption, "@dream loves her new @arthurgeorge87 SANTA BABY kids socks!! From ShopArthurGeorge.com." For a while, Dream already had her own Instagram, which included images of her breastfeeding, wearing cartoon shades, and chillaxing with her big brother, King Cairo. Those posts have since been deleted.
Baby's first Christmas was a mess
All was not calm and bright for baby Dream Kardashian's first Christmas. Rob posted pitiful videos to Snapchat on Dec. 17, 2016 of his daughter's empty nursery, claiming Chyna had disappeared with the baby. "So I get home and Chyna took the baby, took the whole nursery we built," he said in one clip (via Us Weekly). "And Chyna took everything that we built for the nursery for the baby Dream and she left, and she just left me alone and took the baby."
The holiday drama was served up just days after news spread that Rob and Chyna had picked a wedding date for the summer of 2017. Those nuptials never happened, and for good reason...
Chyna called rob 'mentally ill'
In the wake of Rob's depressing social media posts, Chyna unleashed a defensive Instagram tirade against her daughter's daddy. In the since-deleted message (via E! News), Chyna said, "I'M DONE ! This entire year I have done nothing but help Rob! It's so SAD & PATHETIC how low he'd stoop to cover up HIS PERSONAL ISSUES! Rob is mentally ill & refuses to seek help! He self medicates which makes it worse."
"Rob asked for all of this! Rob begged me to have Dream!" she posted. "He stressed me out my ENTIRE PREGNANCY!!! Accusing me of cheating, going crazy on me with massive text blast daily! being an absolute lunatic & then cover it up with gifts! I was verbally abused every other day. I was still there with nothing but high hopes for us!" The lengthy slam went on and on.
Rob and Chyna can post and delete their dirty laundry for the world all day every day, but there will come a time when Dream will be old enough to look back and absorb the negative history surrounding her conception, birth, and early days on Earth. That's a tremendous burden for any person to bear and certainly cause for concern.
Rob and Chyna may be mutually abusive
A source told E! News the dramatic blowout fight between Chyna and Rob in December 2016 occurred because Chyna was allegedly drunk and belligerent before she walked out. "She was punching him in his back and arms and was in a drunken rage," the insider said, claiming Kris Jenner's boyfriend, Corey Gamble, had to pry Chyna off Rob. The source said Rob should be wary of Chyna, alleging, "He's a victim and she's using him."
For her part, Chyna alleged in a social media rant that Rob was "verbally abusive" to her and called her a slew of misogynist terms.
Regardless of the details, clearly this level of dysfunction is not healthy for baby Dream.
Chyna may have substance abuse issues
Chyna may have a history of substance abuse. In February 2016, Us Weekly reported that Chyna (aka Angela White) was kicked off a flight in Texas for behaving erratically and arrested for public intoxication and felony possession of ecstasy.
A witness said in an affidavit, "White's behavior was unpredictable, going from extremely angry, cursing at everyone then to crying..." She also allegedly tried to resist arrest, "dragging her weight and refusing to walk." An officer claimed, "White demanded that I tie her shoes before she walked to my patrol car. White was not cooperative and may have left the airport on her own occurrence and may have been a danger to herself and/or harmed another."
Rob reportedly bailed her out for a cool $8,000. Again, need we say this kind of behavior does not bode well for baby Dream?
Rob has a history of misogyny
Though Rob clearly adores Dream, father and daughter could have a difficult relationship based on Rob's history with the other women in his life. In 2011, he called sister Kim a "w***e" on an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians. In 2012, he went on a slut-shaming tirade against maybe-ex Rita Ora, who the Mirror reports denied ever even being in a relationship with him. It seems he has his work cut out for him in terms of raising a daughter who knows her own worth.
The world saw her mom naked (and it was her dad's fault)
In July 2017, Rob posted alleged revenge porn of Chyna all over Instagram and Twitter. Though the images were removed, screencaps last forever. The posts were reportedly payback for Chyna allegedly cheating on Rob with multiple men, which is, again, something the world didn't need to know about and something Dream will likely be exposed to later on in her life.
Chyna's attorney told People, "I am exploring all legal remedies and protections available to my client at this time in attempts to best advise her on how she may want to proceed." Translation: Dream's parents may be at war in court over their contest to see who can be more petty. The casualty could be Dream's well-being.
Rob said she was born from spite
Rob clearly didn't have his daughter's best interests at heart when he tweeted that she was the product of her mother's twisted revenge plot against Tyga.
"We had a beautiful baby girl that was the best thing that's happened to me and soon as that baby was born Chyna was out," he said (via Star). "Soon as kylie and tyga broke up Chyna was over the game. She had a baby out of spite and I'll never view her the same...I truly thought Chyna wanted to be a family and that's why I was so loyal to her but I learned my lesson and everyone else was right."
If there were ever a guaranteed way to ensure a girl has daddy issues, it seems like Rob really nailed it here.
Her parents may be blowing their money
Sure, Rob and Chyna may not have the same concerns over saving for a college fund that most people do, but that doesn't mean their spending isn't out of control.
In Rob's social media campaign against Chyna, he revealed that he spent $1 million in just two months on car payments, rent, and jewelry for Chyna. Rob also also claimed to have dropped $100,000 on plastic surgery for Chyna after Dream was born, money that would likely have been much better spent on therapy for this entire family.
Rob airs his dirty laundry in public
Rob admitted in one of his furious posts (via Us Weekly), "I'm a savage and I always have been and I always will be and I don't give a f**k. All u may think my daughter may see this one day and I hope she does cuz this ain't love. I never want my daughter to be raised by a woman like Chyna who cheats and does drugs and alcohol with my baby in the house. Chyna been like this long before me but I chose to love all of her cuz I don't judge." He added, "My daughter is the best thing that happened to me and she will know that Chyna did this out of spite not love cuz she mad my little sister took her baby daddy," referencing Kylie and Tyga's relationship. We're not so sure Dream will appreciate your father's "noble" gestures.
The custody agreement didn't solve everything
In Sept. 2017, TMZ reported that Rob and Chyna reached a custody settlement granting Rob slightly more than 50 percent custody of Dream. Rob also reportedly agreed to pay Chyna a cool $20,000 a month in exchange for her to drop her domestic abuse allegations against him and cover the cost of her legal fees, which the site reported were not "chump change." The settlement came after a long period of negotiations—Chyna allegedly requested $50,000 a month and Rob initially held firm at a max of $10,000 per month.
TMZ also reported that Rob is broke, so the child support payments are allegedly coming from his family. According to the tab, Rob can legally request an amendment in the child support agreement at any time, considering he reportedly doesn't have much income coming in.
The custody agreement has also not made Dream's mom and dad agreeable toward one another. Rob accused Chyna of leaving Dream alone while she went out partying. Chyna's attorney, Lisa Bloom, denied that claim. "This is a false and outrageous statement," Bloom told Us Weekly. "Like many working mothers, Chyna does sometimes leave her baby with a nanny while she goes to work. Rob should stop defaming the mother of his child and instead should become accustomed himself to the concept of working for a living, something Chyna has always done before, during and after her relationship with him to support herself and her children."
Chyna is threatening to sue Rob
TMZ reported that Chyna still has legal beef with Rob regarding the alleged revenge porn he shared on social media. Sources told TMZ that Chyna is requesting a seven-figure payout for those posts. The tabloid Blast claimed she blames the photo scandal for killing the Rob & Chyna reality show—and the paychecks that came with it.
However, sources reportedly told the tab that Rob's family isn't buying it. According to Blast, the Kardashians "think there is no way nude photos of Blac Chyna damaged her brand, because she had already put out tons of naked and racy shots of herself. They don't think it caused her any financial damages." In addition, Blast said producers wanted a second season of the reality show, "but because the two were at war and couldn't even be in the same room together, it was impossible to get anything done."
Rob and Kylie are reportedly suing Chyna
Rob and Kylie are reportedly suing Chyna for assault, battery, and vandalism connected to a fracas in December 2016. According to the Blast, court documents allege Chyna physically abused Rob and even played recklessly with a gun in the home they were renting from Kylie.
"Chyna lunged towards Rob with an iPhone charging cable and attempted to strangle Rob with the cord around his neck," the suit said (via the Blast). Rob claimed Chyna then "proceeded to trash the house...damaging a television, breaking down a door, damaging the walls, destroying cell phones and smashing a gingerbread house that was made for the holidays," reported the Blast. When he tried to leave, "Chyna threw a nearby chair at Rob's car causing damage to the vehicle and also used a metal rod to injure Rob," the suit reportedly alleges.
According to the Blast, court documents also claim "Chyna terrorized Kylie by 'telling her to get tests for sexually transmitted diseases, because Kylie was dating Tyga.'"
The fighting is taking a toll on the entire family
The acrimony between Rob and Chyna is affecting everyone else in the KarJenner clan — which definitely won't be good for poor Dream Kardashian.
During a January 2018 episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians (via Radar Online), Rob beefed with his sisters over a rude group text.
"One plus of all this [is] there's no way Rob and Chyna could get back together after this, right? Let's focus on the positive," Khloe said. "But it just sucks. He's made out to be this bad guy when she's taunting him. Love makes you do f**ked up things ... You don't f**k with someone's heart and emotions."
Khloe explained, "[Rob and Chyna are] still having a hard time getting along. The legal battle that's been going on between the two of them has been super frustrating ... This is escalating to a place that none of us could've ever imagined."
A source told People that Rob's family "warned him that she is nonstop drama, and they were right ... They are sad for Dream that her mom behaves like this. They don't think Rob is perfect in any way, but they think Chyna is beyond bad. They just want the drama to stop. They all love Dream and are very protective of her."
Is Rob unstable?
Rob's mental health has been cause for concern for years. A source told People in December 2017 that Rob was in a "sad state" and was "still struggling with his health," adding, "He only cares about Dream and loves spending time with her, but that's about it. He doesn't seem excited about anything else."
An insider also told Radar Online that month that "has been so erratic in his communication with Chyna lately. He vacillates from normal conversations about drop-off for Dream to begging Chyna to see him and then calling her a bad mom. He seems unstable."
Chyna may be planning her own reality show with Dream
Dream Kardashian isn't just being used to sell socks — she's also becoming a brand and a boost to her parents.
A source told Radar Online that family members met to discuss the best way to market their own children, especially in light of Khloe and Kylie's pregnancies. "The family had a meeting to game plan for what they're doing financially with the new babies on the way [and about] how they're going to brand the children," the insider claimed.
Dream was allegedly excluded from the discussion. "Rob has been upset his daughter Dream isn't a part of it," a source said. "The family has told him they don't think it's fair for Chyna to have a piece of pie."
Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that Dream could appear in a potential reality show starring Chyna. The insider claimed Chyna's show is "almost a certainty, but music is her first priority. Dream will be able to be on the show."
