Sam Smith, Brandon Flynn Reportedly Call It Quits
Sam Smith and Brandon Flynn have reportedly split.
According to a report published by The Sun on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, the "One Last Song" singer and 13 Reasons Why star have called it quits after nine months of dating.
"Sam and Brandon had a real whirlwind romance," a source told the gossip rag. "They really fell for each other. But they are both so busy with their careers and unfortunately things just haven't worked out."
Regarding Smith, who has reportedly deleted a number of photos of the couple off of Instagram, the insider added, "Sam is obviously devastated. This is the most significant relationship he has ever had. Thankfully he is on tour across the US at the moment which has been a welcome distraction."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Smith, 26, and Flynn, 24, were first romantically linked in early October 2017, when they were spotted holding hands and kissing in New York City's Greenwich Village. Shortly after, the "I'm Not The Only One" hitmaker confirmed that he was in a relationship while promoting his sophomore album, The Thrill Of It All, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"It's weird bringing out an album and not being single because when I put out In the Lonely Hour, I was so lonely," Smith said. While he didn't name Flynn as his new beau at the time, he added, "But now I'm singing songs about another guy but I'm quite happy, so it's quite weird." By December, the then-rumored couple made their blossoming romance Instagram official.
At the time of this writing, neither Smith nor Flynn have publicly commented on their alleged breakup.
Sadly, these two aren't the only celeb pairing to recently head toward Splitsville. Just this week, Derek Peth and Taylor Nolan of Bachelor in Paradise fame called off their engagement, while Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese and his longtime fiancé, Joseph Bradley Phillips, also split up. Meanwhile, Christian Siriano and Brad Walsh announced their separation after two years of marriage.
