John Cena, Nikki Bella Are 'Working On Their Relationship' After Split
Are John Cena and Nikki Bella back together?
On Thursday, May 31, 2018, a rep for the Total Bellas star revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the two are working things out after announcing their split in mid-April.
"Nikki Bella and John Cena are working on their relationship and taking it day by day," the rep told the publication. "They appreciate all of their fans and their continued support."
The update comes amid rumors that the pair, who had been together for six years, were reconciling their relationship. According to a recent Us Weekly source, "Nikki called off the wedding earlier this month so she could have more time to make a decision with what she wanted in life. Calling off the wedding was the right decision at the moment and their relationship only grew from it. It didn't mean that any love was lost, or that they lost any feelings for one another, but they both have realized that they love each other and want to be with one another."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Cena, 41, and Bella, 34, shocked fans when they called it quits just three weeks ahead of their planned nuptials. "While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another," the former couple, who got engaged at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017, said in a joint statement at the time. "We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives."
The Blockers star made headlines on May 14 when he professed his love for his ex-fiancée and said he'd changed his mind about not wanting to start a family during a candid appearance on the Today show. "It's been very difficult. I had my heart broken out of nowhere," Cena said, adding, "I still love Nicole. I would still love to marry Nicole. I still would love to have a family with Nicole."
In response to the interview, Bella told ET that her ex was an "amazing man" and the "love of [her] life." She continued, "I truly hope one day that we can work it out and get back together. I think there is hope."
Just a few days later, the WWE stars were spotted out and about together for the first time since their breakup, grabbing coffee and going on a walk in San Diego, Calif.
