Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Reportedly Plan To Visit Her Father In Mexico
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may be planning another trip before their honeymoon.
According to an Entertainment Tonight exclusive, published on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, the royal newlyweds are hoping to visit the duchess' father, Thomas Markle, in Mexico.
"I hear one of the things they want to do sooner than later — and now that they're married — is to go and see Thomas Markle, who is recovering from a heart operation," royal expert Katie Nicholl told the publication. "We don't know when this trip might happen. ...I'm hearing from people close to Meghan and Harry that they're very keen to do it."
Nicholl added, "[Prince Harry] feels it's very important that he gets to meet Thomas. Of course, Meghan — who's been really concerned about her father's health — is keen to go see him as soon as possible."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Thomas was unable to attend the couple's royal wedding over the weekend after undergoing heart surgery last week amid the media storm surrounding his staged paparazzi photos. At the time, he was under doctor's orders not to travel overseas until he had fully recovered.
"Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding," the former Suits actress confirmed in a statement just days before her nuptials. "I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health."
Prince Harry, 33, and Markle, 36, tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. "My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy," Thomas told TMZ after watching his daughter get married on television. "I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and happiness."
The proud dad later told the gossip rag, "The service was beautiful and it's history. I will always regret not being able to be there and not being able to hold my daughter's hand ... Now I pray that Harry and Meghan can go on a nice honeymoon and rest and relax."
