Nikki Bella Is 'Speechless' Following John Cena's Candid Today Show Interview
Nikki Bella is at a loss for words.
On Monday, May 14, 2018, the WWE star spoke with Extra at NBCUniversal's upfront presentation in New York City — just hours after her ex-fiancé, John Cena, said he wanted to reconcile and have kids with her during an appearance on the Today show.
"Wow. Well, I'm speechless. That's crazy," Bella, who hadn't seen the candid interview yet, began, before opening up about their recent split. "I didn't think cold feet and all of that type of stuff existed, but it exists. I have hope and I'm just at a point in my life where I feel like I kind've lost me, and I want to find me and work on me."
The pro wrestler later caught up with Entertainment Tonight at the event, where she called her ex an "amazing man" and the "love of [her] life." Bella added, "I truly hope one day that we can work it out and get back together. I think there is hope."
"I just want us both to live the rest of our lives happy," the Total Bellas star continued. "Hopefully that's together, maybe it's not. Right now I'm just focusing on me."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Cena addressed their breakup during his interview with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. "It's been very difficult. I had my heart broken out of nowhere," he said, adding, "I still love Nicole. I would still love to marry Nicole. I still would love to have a family with Nicole."
While alluding to recent reports that they'd broken up over the fact that he didn't want to have kids, the Blockers star continued, "I'm willing to go back on all of these things that I [said]."
Cena, 41, and Bella, 34, called it quits in mid-April 2018 — just three weeks before their wedding. "While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another," they said in a joint statement at the time. "We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives."
The former couple, who got engaged at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017, had been together for six years before ending their relationship.
