Kardashian Family Hits Back At Blac Chyna's Lawsuit
The famous family is not going down without a fight.
In response to Blac Chyna's lawsuit against them, the Kardashian family is seeking for the dismissal of the model's claims. People reports that the lawsuit in question places blame on the Kardashians for the cancellation of Chyna's reality TV show, Rob and Chyna. However, the Kardashians—specifically, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West, and Chyna's ex-fiancé Rob Kardashian—allegedly believe that the termination of the series is solely Chyna's fault.
The family members' attorneys have reportedly filed a "demurrer" on Dec. 21, 2017, objecting to Chyna's lawsuit and requesting it be dismissed in court. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars allege that Chyna herself caused the end of her show, as she'd filed a domestic violence restraining order against Rob, with whom she shares daughter Dream, back in July 2017. The order, they say, prevents Rob from contacting Chyna "either directly or indirectly, in any way" and forces him to stay away from Chyna, her home, and her place of work.
Since Rob wouldn't have been legally allowed to film the show with Chyna, the Kardashian family argues that "no trier of fact could possibly find that it was reasonably probable that a second season of Rob & Chyna would have been picked up and filmed."
The court docs add that Rob's mother and sister Kim will appear in court on Jan. 18, 2018, in an attempt to have the lawsuit dismissed.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Chyna sued the Kardashian-Jenner family for using their "power and influence over the E! Network" to end her reality show. At the time, an insider from E! told TMZ that the series was cancelled after Chyna refused to be in the same room with Rob. The network was also reportedly unhappy with Rob & Chyna's ratings.
While the original lawsuit also named Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner, it was later amended to include only Kris, Kim, and Rob.
